Marijuana History 101
This video does an excellent job of explaining the history of cannabis in the United States of America. You will learn of the many uses that cannabis was utilized for in the early history of our country and the unfortunate hypocrisy of bureaucracy that lead to the laws that banned it. There are two forms of Cannabis, Marijuana and Hemp. This video will explain the differences and also the benefits of each.
You will learn that not only was cannabis legal, it was the largest agricultural crops in the world – including the United States. It has thousands of uses and products that included fabrics, lighting oil, medicines, paper and fiber. In fact, the first marijuana law in the United States was one that ordered farmers to grow hemp and the first copies of the Declaration of Independence were written on hemp paper.
Fortunately, over the last dozen years or so people are accepting the benefits of marijuana as states across the country have allowed it to be used for medicinal purposes. In 2012 two states, Colorado and Washington, are leading the way to once and for all eliminate the false charges of ‘Reefer Madness’ that ‘yellow journalism’ conjured up in the early 1920′s by legalizing the recreational use of marijuana. Measures to do the same in other states are being put into place to be voted on in up coming elections.
Watch the video to gain a better understanding of the history of marijuana in the U.S. and then do your part to help legalize it. Doing so will not only open up a profitable and sustainable industry, it will help create more jobs and businesses that will support and grow our economy.
